The Nightrun Garage 7mgte timing belt service kit is our go to service kit when we do in-housing 7m timing belt replacements. We pieced together this kit with all the components we recommend replacing during this job. This kit is comprised of all high-quality Toyota OEM or OEM supplier seals and parts. The timing belt is made by Mitsuboshi which is one of Toyota's OEM suppliers.
We always replace the front main seal, the oil pump drive seal, both cam seals, and the timing belt tensioner when replacing the timing belt. We recommend doing this to reduce vehicle downtime and to prevent the new timing belt from getting ruined by potentially leaking oil. Our kit includes a new thermostat as well because you have to open the thermostat housing to access the upper timing belt cover and the timing belt itself.
We offer this kit in two variants and you can either order with or without a new Toyota OEM water pump. Although it is not necessary to replace the water pump, we highly recommend replacing it when replacing the timing belt. The 7m engine family is very hard on the cooling system and having a brand new water pump helps give peace of mind! Both of these kits work on all 7mge and 7mgte engines. As always, we highly recommended only running Toyota red coolant when completing this job!
