Our Group C inspired Delrin shift knob brings back 80's and 90's racecar technology to your Toyota! Endurance racecars often use Delrin shift knobs due to it's excellent resistance to hot and cold changes and it's incredible resistance to wear and abrasion. Heat is often transferred through the transmission to the shift knob and can become very hot after a period of time. This shift knob can sit in the sun all day long and not burn your hand when it's time to drive!
The Group C shift knob is an ultra comfortable 50mm (1.968") and fits superbly in your hand. Delrin is strong enough to not need a separate threaded insert and this is threaded for Toyota M12x1.25 thread pitch. This shift knob brings back memories of Group A, Group C, and LM racecars and the design is very close to the F40 LM factory shift knob!
Delrin is the ideal material for shift knobs and other tactile parts for many reasons including:
- Highly resistant to heat and cold changes. It is never to hot or cold to touch in different seasons.
- High strength, high stiffness, and high compressive properties.
- Superior dimensional stability.
- Low moisture absorption
- Chemically resistance to fuels and solvents
- Excellent wear and abrasion properties
